Founder & President ~ Joy Gilfilen

Ms. Gilfilen is the mastermind and the backbone behind UnitingCreatives.com.  Joy has always been a creatively enterprising person who develops projects on purpose. Now she has created a system for using technology and teamwork to help us rebuild communities as we change the future.

Her core philosophy of business is based on creating economic sustainability by maximizing the creative potential of humanity, applied physics principles and natural living systems awareness.  

A revisionary, parent, facilitator, and community activist, Joy has authored and produced print and video training materials, has written hundreds of articles and recently produced an educational DVD "Flipping the Joy Switch" which is all about building emotional resilience.  

Ms. Gilfilen’s innovative business, marketing and leadership career spans thirty years.  She has taken over 25 projects to completion with notable successes:

• As a teenager she was responsible for doubling the size of a small town newspaper, founded clubs and lead community initiatives.  
• In her 20's she spearheaded the Fairhaven 1990 Task Force revisionary process - with the result that Fairhaven is now a revitalized historic business district in Bellingham, WA. 
• Over a 2 year period, Joy managed the Bellingham-Whatcom County Visitor and Convention Bureau as it grew from a fledging one person, one room office with no systems into a 40 volunteer, four location facility with hundreds of members and full business and membership support systems. 
• At SPIE-The International Society for Optical Engineering, Joy initiated and developed the Lasers and Fibers in Medicine conferences - the first of their kind.  And she built administrative systems to organize and plan for the unknown and to think into the future. 
• As a network marketing industry leader, Ms. Gilfilen built a $3.5 million per year sales organization with over 5,000 members prior to the Internet, pioneering leadership and training systems along the way. 
• Joy launched a company called Vitality, Inc. and became a trainer, coach, facilitator and business consultant to a network marketing company that grew from a half milllion to a million dollars a month in sales during her tenure there.
• Joy raised a family, rebuilt homes, coached teenagers and raced sports cars competively, and volunteered in community as well.
• Today Joy is also the President of the Whatcom County ReEntry Coalition spearheading a social change initiative in her community to build restorative justice systems and to build a Create A Life Center for people reentering society from all levels of upheaval.

Joy has consistently been at the forefront of change in the real world of small business, coaching creative executives, organizations, groups, teams and independent entrepreneurs to happiness along with their success.    

Joy has recently developed a coachable living systems organizational development strategy for creative people to use to handle the speed of change and is applying those principles in the founding of UnitingCreatives.com.  As time permits, there will be books, training materials, coaching programs and more available.  Collaborators and mentors in UnitingCreatives.com will be the first people to receive her trainings firsthand.

Producer, Councilor & Collaborator ~ Shawn Gallaway

Shawn Gallaway is a visual artist, singer songwriter, author, ceremonial healer, workshop facilitator, energy worker and Certified Lifeline Practitioner.

Shawn has traveled throughout the world sharing 'conscious music' and his message of healing through the arts.   Shawn has recently shared the stage with the Dalai Lama, authors Gregg Braden, Bruce Lipton, Robert Holden, Darren Weissman, T. Harv Ecker.  He has performed with Rock and Pop Masters, Orleans, Jimi Jamison of Survivor, Dave Jenkins from Pablo Cruise, Allan Parsons and Robbie Dupree.

Shawn is also an author and a gifted visual artist whose work has been shown through out the United States and abroad. As a workshop facilitator and a ceremonial healer Shawn has assisted and blessed many over the years with his keen insight and his ability to bring a sense of humor to the healing process. 

An accomplished singer,songwriter and producer, Shawn has produced 'I Choose Love' as a CD and a DVD, 'Freedom Cries' and 'Love will Overcome' as CD's.  His newest album 'Livin' Love ~ The Shift is On' is all about Conscious Music.

Most recently, Shawn and Joy Gilfilen just produced 'ChoicePoint! Uniting Creatives with Love & Vitality' which is a DVD about social change through personal transformation. Through a storytelling concert, Shawn chronicles the internal process of change over his adult life and uses it as a bridge to inspire others to open their hearts and to find their gifts.   

On deck is a movie The Choice can best be described as a healing experience that can enlighten and inspire the masses to take loving action in the world through the use of the arts.
